Create Clarity

Creating clarity: three step process to make aligned decisions quickly

If you have ever struggled with making aligned decisions - and making them quickly - you will love this three-step process! Creating Clarity comes through stillness, and that is the place where all of your answers can be heard from within. You ALWAYS have access to the right answer. You ALWAYS know the right thing to do and you ALWAYS have access to a deeper knowing that is within you. And this process will help you to get there faster each time you practice it. 

You will never doubt yourself again once you've adopted this simple practice into your daily life.

Step one: Create space

The fastest way to gain clarity and make life decisions quickly is to create space in your life for stillness. Creating space for stillness is the key to hearing your inner messages and tapping into a true knowing that will allow you to make decisions with ease and certainty, without doubt. 

If there is any area of your life that you have been seeking clarity, you will love this process!

The task for creating space is similar to a concept of creating time. You need to create space and time for stillness in order to receive the answers that you are looking for. You need to create a space in your life for stillness, to quiet the compulsive chatter in your mind, and calm it to a point where you can receive thoughts differently.

Take time to explore the options available to you to create space (time) in your life for stillness. It could be spending less time on social media (give up only 20 minutes to change your life!), waking up / going to bed 20 minutes earlier, committing to quiet time at home, creating a physical space dedicated to stillness... the options are different for everyone but the benefits are the same :)

So, start here by responding to these questions. (Try writing your responses in a journal, paper or your notes app. Writing responses is a powerful way to gain clarity and stay true to you!)

Questions: 

  1. What can you remove from your life, put on hold (temporarily) or adjust TODAY to create time and space in your life?
  2. Where can you create 20 minutes daily of space (time)  in your life, (just for you)? 
  3. Can you commit to it today? 
  4. What 'roadblocks' might get in your way? 
  5. How will you address those 'roadblocks'?
  6. How important is creating clarity for yourself?
  7. Now declare your commitment to create space for stillness


Make a choice to hold this time and space open and free, just for you. You deserve this! Declare and Decide that this space and time is available to you right now.

Step two: create stillness

Now that you have created space in your life, make a commitment that this space is crucial, so important, so sacred, and so much about YOU, that you are determined to protect this space and time with everything you have. You have taken the time to create this space and find stillness in your life so that you can get connected to what is most important to you. So that you can hear your own inner guidance, know your truth, and quickly tap into this space in the future.

To create stillness in this space, first find something that calms you. An "activity" (or non-activity) that calms your mind chatter. Find something that resonates with you as a way to calm and quiet the mind. This is different for everyone, so it is important to explore and understand what works best for you. Music, journaling, free-writing, breathing techniques, mindfulness exercises, meditation, yoga, running, walking, driving, listening to music. All of these are common in creating stillness and quieting the mind chatter. 


Start thinking about what it is that slows down your mind chatter enough to experience a calmness, a stillness, and a clear mind... and answer these questions:


  1. What activity (or non-activity) works best for you to quiet your mind?
  2. Is this activity / non-activity something that you can commit to for 20 minutes daily?
  3. How will you ensure to have time to be still, to keep the mind quiet for a few moments after the activity?
  4. What else might you need to do to ensure this space and time is protected?
  5. What are you committing to today to create stillness?


Find the peace and stillness that is available to you daily. This is where you will receive answers to your most important questions, the bigger questions, and where you will receive ideas and impulses to move forward.

step three: create change

Now that you have created space and completed your stillness activity, gently bring into your mind the topic that requires clarity. Focus on being open to all possibilities. If possible, write down your thoughts on this topic... just start anywhere (free-writing).


From this calm space of stillness and ease, you will quickly recognize the the difference of receiving thoughts from your inner knowing and then the fear-based chatter that you normally walk around with all day. 


The answer from your inner knowing place will feel aligned, it will feel good, it will feel easy. It will not have any fear or worry or heaviness attached to it. The answer will feel light and clear.


If you find receiving thoughts challenging, or if your mind chatter starts up, try using your imagination to play out the ultimate best scenario/outcome for this topic. Imagine there are no limits, no judgements, no rules ... Leverage the power of your imagination to create the ideal outcome. Imagine the best feeling possibility with this outcome. Write it out if possible.


The key here is to trust yourself, trust that you know the answers, and trust that even if it is not what you were expecting, the thought that feels the best is the one to follow. You might receive an idea to go do something totally unrelated to your topic that needs to be resolved, but the thought that feels the best will be the next aligned action to take. Follow what feels good and trust yourself.


If you find the clarity you are looking for is not clearly identified, just ask yourself what the next aligned action could be. What feels like the best scenario when you think about it. It might even be to wait or do nothing, to stop pushing against something that is not ready for action. The answer might come later in the day, or while you're sleeping, or it might come more clearly tomorrow during your Creating Clarity practice.


The more you practice creating clarity, the easier it will get and you will find that you can make aligned decisions more quickly in the future. As you build this practice and trust that you always know what to do, you will experience more aligned decisions, bigger life changes flowing the way you want it to, and that life will get easier.


Have fun with this! Trust yourself, and if you feel like you are pushing or forcing something to happen, take a break, get still, and follow what feels best for receiving the most aligned action to take.
